ZEVEN LEVENS / SEVEN LIVES

I nearly drowned seven times in my life! My life is like a cat, seven lives in Holland, nine lives in England. The seven lives are situated in Holland, England and Malaysia and then I added two dangerous situations in Australia. I have written this book (108 pages with some photographs) as a word of thanks to those who saved my life. a second reason for writing it was to remember the olden days of pioneering in Chruch and Society. you can order this book with me by writing an email with your address. It still has to be printed, so I do not know the prise as yet.

OUR SUN

THE COMBINED TELESCOPES OF THE WORLD MANAGED TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SUN.
It gives quite a different picture from what we are used to see. I myself was fascinated by that photograph and decided to make a painting of it, but different. I painted the sun more or less according to the photograph, but added the Rainbowsnake, which can be seen just under the surface of the sun.
The Rainbowsnake of the Aboriginal culture tells us to look after ourselves, after our neighbours and also after our sun, after the earth, the universe. The Rainbowsnake brings good luck.

THE DOTPAINTER

Many paintings have already been published on this blog. Who is the painter? OK, that's me. Now I like to show you how the paintings are being made. All you need is a stick, for eample a saté-stick and a small pot of paint and a lot of imagination, a story in your head, Dotpainting means also that the symbols of the Aboriginal paintings are known. A U is a person, it is a man if you paint a spear next to him and a woman if you paint a stick ( a diggingstick) next to her, etc.

ONCE UPON A TIME

ITt is some time ago, but once upon a time there was snow round this time of the year. my fish were deep down in the pont; the heron could not break the ice. Ice-time is receding, making place for a warm climate, with all its consequences. We hardly dare to think of the ultimate consequences in the time of our great-great grandchildren.

WHAT DO YOU SEE???

Indeed, what do you see in this painting? Every dotpainting has its own story, as told by the painter, an old story or a new one. It is the painter who tells the story. But you see some shapes and figures which may have a speacial meaning to yourself. For example, you might see a face in the upperright corner.
The story of the painter is the following:
Once upon a time there was a clearly defined world: the black and yellow stripes along the sides.
Nowadays the people ( the U's) live in a hazy world, in their own surroundings (the white circles), linked together (the blue lines), but surrounded by undefined shapes (red-yellow).
the happiness of the people depends on the way in which they look at these shapes: full of wonder, anxious or whatever.
